My little fish

Earlier this month, our new Beach Club opened up and we were able to take Owen to the pool for the first time! Outside of bath time, O hasn't spent time in water. We were so excited to get him all lathered up in SPF 50 and head out for some fun in the sun!

Owen wasn't too sure about the baby pool. We sat on the edge of it, dipping his feet into the water and trying to get him to splash around -- but it was really COLD! We got up after a little bit and then Nate dipped his toe in the "big pool." IT WAS WARM! We blew up Owen's raft and in he went! Nate and Owen were in the pool for over 30 minutes, just checking everyone out and smiling for Mommy of course!

The next day we went out on our friends' boat for a little sun. It was cloudy, but warmer than the previous day. It felt so good to get out on the water! Owen loved the boat ride and even fell asleep while we took a spin around the reservoir. Once we found a spot to drop anchor, Nate dipped O's feet in the water. He loved it! He started splashing away immediately and Nate had to really hold onto him to keep him from diving in. Pretty soon we had the raft out again so O could enjoy the water. His little legs were kicking and he squealed as soon as we got him into the little seat.

After a couple of hours we headed home. O fell asleep on the way back to the marina, so I carried him off the boat and back to our car. He slept the whole way home, up the stairs and in his crib for an hour after that!!! What a big weekend for the little guy. We can't wait for more fun times out on the water!
