Facing Forward
Owen had his car seat turned around for the very first time this week! At first, he didn't like it very well but after a day of getting used to it, it became a lot easier for O and Mom. I love looking over my right shoulder and seeing his blue eyes just staring at me with his now 8-tooth grin.
We turned Owen around for a couple of reasons... so before you lecture me on the benefits to keeping a child rear facing for two years, hear me out. 1) His feet were up against the back of the actual car seat. He wasn't comfortable, which made him irritable and such a joy to drive around. 2) He was over the recommended weight limit of the car seat manufacturer (Safety 1st) to be turned around.
Life is a little bit easier now. It's becoming harder and harder to remember what it was like carrying around his infant seat for the first six months of his life. Although, it doesn't seem that long ago that we transitioned him into this car seat from his infant carrier back in December!
Overall, we're still really happy with his car seat. I've recommended it to other mommies at daycare. Turning it around was easier than installing it rear facing, which is a major relief since Owen will be spending a weekend with Grandma Lynn, Grandpa Steve and Uncle Brad soon!
