5 Months Old!

We can't believe our little man is already 5 months old! Time has flown way too fast. It's been such an incredible 5 months - and we can't wait to watch Owen continue to grow and learn. He amazes Nate and me with just about everything he does.

He can pretty much sit up all on his own now. Every once in a while he loses his balance but he's able to either catch himself before falling or fall on his tummy and roll over with a smile... like he was thinking, "I meant to do that!"

Owen is also eating two meals of cereal and fruit every day. He'll be starting veggies later this month. He loves his rice cereal and his favorite food so far has been peaches. He can't get enough of them! He's still drinking from a bottle but we've started him with a 4 mo. old recommended sippy cup by Nuby. He'll use his cup for a little while but gets frustrated after a quarter of an ounce or so. We took a second cup to daycare so he can continue to get used to it during the day when he's not home.

With all that eating, it's no surprise he's wearing 6-9 mos. clothes now. We don't go back to the doctor's office until next month so we're not quite sure how much he's grown since October, but he's definitely longer and thicker through the middle!

He's also a big talker and giggle monster... with Nate and me as parents, he didn't have a shot at being the "quiet kid." He almost always has a smile on his face and loves to laugh at us and his teachers at daycare. He loves to bounce in his bouncy swing (he even line danced with Mom to Alan Jackson's "Good Time") and play with his Baby Einstein toys. Anything that lights up and makes noise is fascinating to him!

O has taken quite a liking to his feet, too. He loves to hold them up in the air while he's playing on the floor or even when we're changing his diaper. He's such a monkey!

Ralph isn't quite sure what to think about him when he's squealing and talking, but he's not scared of him and even gives O a kiss or two every once in a while.

I feel truly blessed to have such a healthy, amazing baby boy. Every morning Nate calls him "Sunshine" and I couldn't pick a more perfect nickname for him (other than Hoot, of course). He is our whole world and I certainly can't imagine a life without him. It's amazing how much everything has changed in just 5 short months -- and I wouldn't change a thing!
